Sources of Alcohol
This chart shows the most common sources by which students obtain alcohol. Students were permitted to choose more than one option.
Of Note:
- The most common method by which students obtain alcohol is purchasing it themselves if they are over 21, followed by a friend purchasing it who is over 21.
- There are significant differences in source across class years. Freshmen are most likely to obtain alcohol from friends under 21, followed by friends over 21. Sophomores ae more likely to obtain alcohol from friends over 21, followed by friends under 21. Juniors and seniors are by far the most likely to purchase alcohol for themselves, followed by obtaining it from friends over 21.
- Graduate/professional students almost always obtain alcohol themselves.
