Mission and Criteria

Dittmar Memorial Gallery at Norris University Center is an exhibition and gathering place inviting the 榴梿视频 University community to meaningfully interact with art from diverse perspectives.

Through rotating exhibitions by emerging artists in the Evanston and Chicagoland area, partnerships with organizations and departments across the university, and the permanent collection, Dittmar prompts interdisciplinary dialogue through intentional engagement with the arts.

Please note: we are not able to accommodate international artists at this time.

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS

NORTHWESTERN ATP STUDENT ARTIST OPPORTUNITY

Exhibition will be on view April 4 - May 2, 2025

 

In spring 2025, 榴梿视频 University's Dittmar Memorial Gallery is collaborating with SAIC’s on a cross-institutional exhibition. This exhibition will celebrate student artwork and student-led exhibitions at both the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and 榴梿视频 University.

Dittmar Memorial Gallery invites current 榴梿视频 student artists to submit their artwork to this exhibition. For more information and to submit your artwork to our joint open call, please visit .

2025-2026 Exhibition Submissions

Submissions for 2025-2026 exhibitions are now open.

Please use the following guidelines below to apply. 

 

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT IS SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 2025.
All submissions will be reviewed and responded to the week of April 28, 2025.

 

Submitting Your Art

Dittmar Memorial Gallery welcomes submissions through a formal review process. Each May, the submissions committee meets to review submissions and select a season of artists for the following academic year. In your complete submission, include:

  1. Five images that demonstrate the work you are proposing for a show or past work with a proposal for new work
  2. Work list for the images, including title, medium, size, and year
  3. Statement
  4. Resume/CV
  5. Any available contact information
